Resident Leadership

At Edina West, engaged homeowners and professional management work together to preserve our community's financial strength, maintain its beautiful campus, and plan thoughtfully for the future. This culture of volunteerism and collaboration is one of the qualities that makes Edina West such a vibrant and welcoming community.

Board of Directors

The Association is led by a Board of Directors consisting of five to seven homeowners elected by the membership to serve two-year terms. The Board is responsible for establishing policies, overseeing the Association's finances, maintaining the buildings and grounds, planning for future capital improvements, and ensuring that the community is operated in accordance with its governing documents. Working together with professional on-site management, the Board strives to make thoughtful decisions that protect property values while enhancing the quality of life for all residents. Transparency and homeowner involvement are important at Edina West. Monthly Board work sessions and Board meetings are open to homeowners, and each meeting includes a homeowner forum where residents are invited to ask questions and share comments. A weekly community newsletter keeps residents informed about Association business, projects, upcoming events, and community news.

The Association is committed to responsible financial planning and building and maintaining adequate reserves to preserve and enhance the community for future generations. Edina West operates with an annual budget of approximately $2 million. Monthly assessments are competitive with similar condominium communities offering comparable amenities and include many services and utilities, such as heat, cable television, and high-speed internet, along with the maintenance and amenities that make Edina West such an exceptional place to live.

Resident Involvement

Edina West is a community built on resident engagement. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, homeowners have many opportunities to become involved and help shape the future of the Association. Board-chartered committees, including the Social Committee, Good Neighbor Initiative, and the Landscape Committee, play an important role in enhancing community life, supporting residents, and caring for our beautiful campus. From time to time, the Association also creates project teams to address specific initiatives, such as updating governing documents, preserving historical records, or assisting with community improvement projects. For major capital projects, the Board may appoint a Resident Advisor to work alongside the Board member leading the project. Resident Advisors provide valuable perspectives, help facilitate communication, and contribute their professional expertise and knowledge throughout the planning and implementation process.
